Wrapped in mists and shrouded in mystery, coffee from the Attikan Estate has been winning awards and hearts for years. Atikan Estate is situated on a nature reserve in the Biligiri Ranga Hills. Owned by Sangameshwar Coffee estate, the farm is more or less isolated, accustomed to following older traditions, allowing for minimum use of chemicals and stressing on preserving the purity of the environment and the ecosystems.
Sprawling over 400 acres of Natural Rainforest, the coffee plants are shaded by indigenous trees, like fig. In fact, the estate itself is named after this natural shade canopy - Atti (fig) and Kan (forest).
Sipping on a cup of Attikan is like watching an artist unleash his hidden talent to produce a stunning canvas. A brushstroke of warming fruits here, shadows of almonds; blanched and toasted, whispers of toffee hiding under a canopy of brown sugar, caramel and cola. The final image, a balance of brightness with the warmth redolent of a log fire on a cold winter’s night
